Honestly, I saw it coming yet self-denial still tells me that we've got some time left.
Ha! That's what i call wishful thinking.

Bought a copy of Psychology Today. Among the many interesting articles, one article was particularly interesting. Titled 'The End Is Near', it was a report on a research conducted by psychologists on the issue if people would enjoy their time spent if they knew that they had little time left vs. how much time they still have.

Usually, most people's replies would be, ' don't remind me of how much time i m left with, i just want to enjoy as much as i can..' when people try to tell them that the end is coming. Right?

Well, truth is - You tend to savour and cherish the GOOD TIMES even more if you knew that it's ending soon.

It seems that mindset is the major factor in this whole experiment. The group of test subjects are divided into two groups. The group of them who had the mentality that the period of 6 weeks in their college will be gone in the blink of an eye reported that they were happier. This was attributed to the fact that they were more keen on making full-use of their time such as utilising whatever school facilities they have and joining more social activities. With more social interaction, comes greater happiness. This is as opposed to the other group of test subjects, who were just not as motivated as their counterparts and hence, reported lesser satisfaction from the 6weeks of time in the college.

Well, from my point of view, I honestly think that this could be seriously true too. If you knew u have 24 hours left on this surface of the Earth, would u tell me that you will choose to be a potato couch and catch your 'favourite' tv-shows {as if THIS IS THE ONLY THING IN MIND if you knew u will be gone in a matter of time}? Definitely A BIG NO right? You would probably be hanging out with YOUR best of friends or loved ones, doing crazy things, doing things that u would miss the most once u're gone.

This is the exaggerated version. So if u relate this matter to your daily life, you would have the same enlightenment i got from the article. Well, as long as you live your life as if it's your last day. I m definitely sure that sooner or later, you will start appreciating the finer things in life - the sun, cloudscapes, stars and etc. Things, in that busy life of yours, tend to be missed. You should start appreciating them now. First step, slow down n look at this beautiful world. {ok, if u're not feeling so strongly for the Earth. then your surroundings would work just fine} Second step, list out things that have always been on your mind and yet, you din't get the chance to do it. Third step, out of the 100+ to-do items, pick one for each day. You will thank me for that.

Don't chide your friends when they try to scare you that it's 'ONE-DAY left to the end of sth'. They are being nice and angelic to remind you TO ENJOY THE MAXIMUM OUT OF IT.

[if i knew, i would have love you 100% and not 80%.
but at least, 20% saved me from more misery.
Yet, this 20% robbed me off from the happiness that I could have.]
